Tim Flaherty was born and raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and is a product of their excellent Catholic School system. He is the oldest of 6 children by parents Tom and Sue Flaherty.

After studying theology and philosophy at the University of St. Thomas for two years, Flaherty set his sights on journalism. Transferring to the University of Iowa, he declared a journalism major. He is currently enjoying several journalism classes there and has recently found employment at The Daily Iowan.

Flaherty is an avid magazine reader and has great interest in our nation’s political processes. He enjoys spending time with friends and family, running and traveling.

After graduation Flaherty hopes to work for a magazine or newspaper as a writer. Eventually he would like to edit or create his own publication. Someday he hopes to return to school for an M.A. in Theology.
